Students to provide free dental sealants
(DALLAS) – Dental students and faculty at the Texas A&M Health Science Center Baylor College of Dentistry will provide free dental sealants March 28 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the college for children ages 6-14.
Dental sealants are thin, plastic coatings painted on the chewing surfaces of the premolars and molars (back teeth) to seal off bacteria and prevent decay. Sealant color is either clear or tinted, and application is a simple and painless procedure.
Services will be provided at no charge. However, children must have appointments to be treated, and a parent or legal guardian must accompany them. Appointments can be made by calling Scott Eckhart at (214) 828-8400 ext. 4699.
The HSC-Baylor College of Dentistry is located at 3302 Gaston Ave., on the corner of Gaston and Hall streets in Dallas. Services will be provided in the pediatric dentistry clinic, located on the second floor.
