Brender to deliver keynote address at 6th International Nitrogen Conference

Jean Brender, Ph.D., R.N., associate dean of research at the Texas A&M Health Science Center School of Rural Public Health, has been invited to deliver the keynote address on nitrogen and health at the 6th International Nitrogen Conference that will be held in Kampala, Uganda on November 18-22. The biannual conference draws scientists from around the world from many disciplines that conduct research and/or work with issues related to nitrogen. The overall goal of the International Nitrogen Initiative is to optimize nitrogen’s beneficial role in sustainable food production and minimize nitrogen’s negative effects on human health and the environment resulting from food and energy production. 

Since 2001, Dr. Brender has conducted research and published numerous papers regarding the health effects of nitrogen, particularly in the area of prenatal exposures and birth defects. For additional information, see the conference website
