Burdine elected to Board
James (Jim) Burdine, Dr.P.H., assistant dean for public health practice at the Texas A&M Health Science Center (TAMHSC) School of Rural Public Health, was recently elected to the Board of Directors of the Texas Rural Leadership Program, Inc. (TRLP). The TRLP is a nonprofit formed in 1990 to “ . . . create and deliver exciting and effective leadership development programs for rural Texas.” Through training programs, conferences and other resources, the organization has developed critical thinking and other skills among nearly 1,000 community leaders from across rural Texas.
Dr. Burdine’s election to the board was based on his extensive experience and expertise in community health development and community health status assessment. Dr. Burdine is a professor in the Department of Social and Behavioral Health at TAMHSC-School of Rural Public Health.
