“Dialogue with the Dean” luncheons held with first-year students
The Office of Students Affairs at the Texas A&M Health Science Center School of Rural Public Health holds each year “Dialogue With The Dean: Sharing Perspective” luncheons for first-year students. This professional development opportunity developed by Devy Hardeman, assistant director of student affairs, provides students with the opportunity to interact with Interim Dean Jim Burdine and fellow students, sharing personal perspectives on national and global health issues in a casual, conversational setting.
Students learn more about key Texas A&M School of Rural Public Health initiatives and faculty research, increasing their awareness of the school’s role in shaping public health on the state, national and international levels. Staff are also available to answer questions and provide information about student services in a casual networking environment to help new students begin a successful graduate school experience.
Multiple luncheons have been held this semester both at the College Station and McAllen Campus. Those attending the most recent session were: (L-R front row) Dr. Jennifer Griffith, Devy Hardeman, Fangbai Sun, Erin Schneider, (L-R back row) Dean Burdine and Eddy Charles.
