A generous gift from two Texas A&M University former students will allow University Health Services to expand its mental health services.
The WoodNext Foundation recently established the WoodNext Mental Health Workforce Development Fund through the Texas A&M Foundation. This non-endowed fund will provide $410,000 to be used toward advancing mental health services and training on the College Station campus.
Nancy Fahrenwald, PhD, RN, PHNA-BC, FAAN, associate vice president of University Health Services, said this kind of gift transforms support for mental health workforce development in the college health setting.
“This funding supports new technology-based training for the university community on how to help a student, and financial support of students enrolled in mental health programs,” Fahrenwald said.
