Master of Health Administration program reaccredited by CAHME

Highest ranked public graduate health administration program in Texas consistently accredited since 2008

The Master of Health Administration (MHA) Program at the Texas A&M University School of Public Health has been reaccredited for a full seven years—the maximum accreditation period possible—by the Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Management Education (CAHME). The MHA Program has been consistently accredited by CAHME since 2008.

CAHME accreditation is a benchmark for content and quality of health care management degree programs nationwide, and is considered the standard for excellence. CAHME is the sole accrediting body for programs offering professional degrees in health care management. The MHA Program awarded its first degree in 2001 and now offers both an Executive Track (at the Texas Medical Center in Houston) for currently employed health care professionals and a Resident Track (in College Station) for students seeking a career in health administration.

The MHA Program is ranked 28th of 75 CAHME-accredited programs according to US News and World Report. The program’s innovative and thorough approach to preparing future administrators to fill critical roles as health care leaders has led to the MHA Program’s consistent rise in national rankings. It is the highest ranked public graduate health administration program in Texas.

“We are grateful that the CAHME team recognized the continuing improvements to our programs and the focus on the results seen in our students and alumni. We appreciate the efforts of Drs. Lesley Tomaszewski, Mike Morrisey, Murray Cote; Senior Program Coordinator Monica Garner; and the entire MHA faculty for the Residential and Executive programs,” said John J. Buckley, Jr., MBA, FACHE, interim MHA director.

“Consistent with our Texas A&M values, this accreditation continues our efforts to position our Master of Health Administration program as one of the preeminent graduate health administration programs in the country.”
