New kind of health care center opens in Bryan
Texas A&M Health Hub opens, providing a one-stop medical home for families in the Brazos Valley
Texas A&M University Health Science Center (Texas A&M Health) today celebrated the opening of the Texas A&M Health Hub in Bryan, Texas. The first of its kind in the Brazos Valley, the 33,000 square-foot facility located at 2900 E. 29th Street is designed to treat the mind and body of patients of all ages.
“Physical and mental health go hand-in-hand and having a facility that can treat both continues our mission of providing quality health care for the Brazos Valley community,” said Jon Mogford, chief operating officer and senior vice president of Texas A&M Health. “Texas A&M Health remains focused on ways to discover and create innovative solutions to the health care industry. We are very proud to bring this health care model to the area.”
According to the 2019 Brazos Valley Regional Health Status Assessment conducted by the Texas A&M School of Public Health Center for Community Health Development, the lack of medical specialties and transportation accessing medical care are the largest concerns for Brazos Valley residents. The Health Hub is addressing these issues by providing services including family care, psychiatry, heart health care, telebehavioral care, urgent care, women’s health and pharmacy medication management all in one, convenient location, with plans to add additional services. This model of health care helps create a medical home for all members of the family, from birth through mature adulthood.
“This model allows us to easily expand our services and replicate the Health Hub in other locations across the Brazos Valley and the state,” said Les Jebson, executive director of clinical business at Texas A&M Health. “As we continue to grow our clinical operations, we wanted to create an environment that not only provides the best care but can grow to continue to meet the needs of our community.”
