Research Poster Places Third at ACMQ
Justin Dickerson, M.B.A., a doctoral student at the Texas A&M Health Science Center (TAMHSC) School of Rural Public Health, and Matthew Smith, Ph.D., M.P.H., assistant professor at TAMHSC-School of Rural Public Health, presented a research poster titled, “Evaluating the Quality of Primary Care Processes in Treating Individuals with Chronic Diseases Indicative of the Metabolic Syndrome” at the American College of Medical Quality’s (ACMQ) annual conference in San Antonio. The poster won third place in the scientific poster competition. First and second place posters in the competition were from John Hopkins University and the Mayo Clinic.
Along with Dickerson and Smith, other authors included Regents Professor Marcia Ory, Ph.D., M.P.H., TAMHSC-School of Rural Public Health and Catherine McNeal, M.D., Ph.D of Scott and White Healthcare. The ACMQ provides leadership and education in healthcare quality management to professionals throughout the country.
