Robinson Donates Book Proceeds to SRPH

Phillip D. Robinson, FACHE, chair of the Texas A&M Health Science Center (TAMHSC) School of Rural Public Health Development Council, has co-edited a book in which part of the proceeds will be donated to the TAMHSC-School of Rural Public Health.  Anticipate, Respond, Recover: Healthcare Leadership and Catastrophic Events edited by Mr. Robinson and K. Joanne McGlown, Ph.D., MHHA, R.N., FACHE, focuses on disaster preparedness and response from the healthcare leader’s perspective.

The book includes compelling interviews with healthcare leaders who led their organizations’ response to and recovery from catastrophic events including recent hurricanes, floods, and terrorists threats. Mr. Robinson tells of his experience and lessons learned as CEO of JFK Medical Center where the first anthrax exposure occurred three weeks after September 11, 2001.

In the dedication, Mr. Robinson states:  “Partial proceeds from this book will be donated to the School of Rural Public Health at the Texas A&M Health Science Center to assist in the development of the future leaders and public health professionals who will be integral to our response to the critical challenges yet to come.”

Mr. Robinson currently serves as president of Lankenau Medical Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
