School of Public Health establishes academic partnership in Ecuador

The Texas A&M School of Public Health has finalized a partnership agreement for academic and research collaborations with the public health school at Universidad San Francisco De Quito (USFQ) in Cumbaya, Ecuador.

The five-year agreement lays the groundwork for joint faculty and student exchanges as well as joint teaching, research and outreach with USFQ.

“We are excited to partner with one of the premier institutions of higher education in Latin America,” said Dean Jay Maddock, PhD, of the Texas A&M School of Public Health. “This partnership will provide opportunities for our students and faculty to work in diverse ecosystems and populations from the Amazon rainforest to the Galapagos Islands.”

Earlier this year, the School of Public Health established partnerships with four universities in China and South Korea, as well as the International Atomic Energy Agency based in Vienna, Austria.

“These new partnerships will provide numerous opportunities to enhance our research, teaching and practice across the globe,” Maddock said.
