SRPH awarded ACTION II contract

The Texas A&M Health Science Center (HSC) School of Rural Public Health is part of a team that recently won a four-year Accelerating Change and Transformation of Organizations and Networks (ACTION II) contract from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ).

Charles Phillips, Ph.D., M.P.H., Regents Professor, will serve as the HSC-School of Rural Public Health project director.

The team is led by the American Institutes for Research and along with the HSC-School of Rural Public Health includes the Mayo Health System, TMF Health Quality Institute, Adventist Health, Carilion Clinic Health System, Virtua and The Urban Institute.

The ACTION II goal is to promote and accelerate the development, implementation, dissemination and sustainability of evidence-based innovation in health care delivery and organization to measurably improve U.S. health care. During the next four years, AHRQ will issue approximately 15-20 funded tasks per year that can only be bid on by ACTION II award winners.
