Texas A&M College of Nursing RN to BSN Program Ranks #1
Online program recognized for quality and range of courses

The Texas A&M College of Nursing online RN to BSN program was recently ranked #1 in the nation by thebestschools.org. The organization evaluates programs based on quality and range of courses provided, as well as the institution’s awards, rankings and reputation.
“This recognition is a reflection of our outstanding faculty and students and their commitment to excellence,” said Texas A&M College of Nursing Dean Nancy Fahrenwald, PhD, RN, PHNA-BC, FAAN. “This year marks the college’s 10th anniversary, and we are proud of the many milestones that have been achieved in a relatively short time.”
Since the College of Nursing was established in 2008, graduates have consistently exceeded the state and national first-time NCLEX-RN pass rates, with a 97 percent first-time pass rate for 2017. Additionally, all of the college’s family nurse practitioner graduates have achieved a 100 percent first-time pass rate on their national board certification exams. The board certification exams are competency-based, valid and reliable assessments of entry-level clinical knowledge and skills of nurse practitioners.
In 2016, the College of Nursing was awarded a four-year designation as a Center of Excellence (COE) by the National League of Nursing in Creating Environments that Enhance Student Learning and Professional Development. The COE designation is in recognition of the college’s outstanding innovations, commitment and sustainability of excellence.
“Our faculty, students and staff are dedicated to improving health and quality of life for all people, especially the rural and underserved,” Fahrenwald said. “This recognition highlights our commitment to graduating the best-prepared nurses so they can make a difference in the lives of patients, their families and communities. We are proud of all of our Aggie nurses and the leadership they provide to meet health care needs across our state.”
