TAMHSC continues utilizing HUBs
(COLLEGE STATION, TX) — The Texas A&M Health Science Center ranks among the state’s best institutions for Historically Underutilized Business, according to the latest information from the Texas Comptroller.
The Fiscal Year 2007 Annual HUB Report shows the Health Science Center ranks 22nd among the Top 25 agencies spending more than $5 million with the largest percentage spent with HUBs. Of more than $21.4 million in total expenditures by the HSC, more than $5.7 million, or 26.81 percent, was spent with HUBs.
In fact, the HSC is tops among all health-related institutions and the only health science center ranked in the Top 25.
Other ranked Texas A&M University System institutions include Texas A&M International University, Texas A&M University-Kingsville, Texas A&M University-Commerce, Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi and West Texas A&M University. Of the Top 25 agencies spending more than $5 million with the smallest percentage spent with HUBs, six are health science centers.
The Texas A&M Health Science Center provides the state with health education, outreach and research. Its six components located in communities throughout Texas are Baylor College of Dentistry, the College of Medicine, the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, the Institute of Biosciences and Technology, the Irma Lerma Rangel College of Pharmacy, and the School of Rural Public Health.
