Dean Reddy meets with Rep. Hinojosa

Hinojosa, D-Mercedes, as he toured the School of Public Health McAllen Campus on Sept. 6. He shared fond memories of cutting the ribbon to open the pharmacy college doors in 2006 along with his friend Irma Lerma Rangel, who was instrumental in establishing South Texas’ first professional school.

Members of the Texas A&M Health Science Center Irma Lerma Rangel College of Pharmacy leadership team met with Rep. Rubén E. Hinojosa, D-Texas, as he toured the School of Rural Public Health McAllen Campus on Sept. 6. He shared fond memories of cutting the ribbon to open the pharmacy college doors in 2006 along with his friend Irma Lerma Rangel, who was instrumental in establishing South Texas’ first professional school. “She was a great legend, a great public servant and role model to me,” he said of Rangel. Hinojosa was impressed with the initiatives of the McAllen campus and the Texas A&M Rangel College of Pharmacy. He is the U.S. House of Representative for Texas’s 15th congressional district, serving since 1997. His district stretches from Seguin to McAllen on the Mexico border.
