Zhao and Huber Promoted

Hongwei Zhao, Sc.D., and Chuck Huber, Ph.D., have been promoted to associate professors with tenure at the Texas A&M Health Science Center School of Rural Public Health, effective Sept. 1, 2011.

Both professors are in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics.

Dr. Zhao received both her Sc.D. (Doctor of Science) and M.S. degree in biostatistics from Harvard University, and her research interest is in survival analysis and longitudinal data analysis. She is especially interested in quality-adjusted life time estimation and cost-effectiveness analysis with censored data. In addition, she works on problems arising from correlated data from longitudinal and multilevel studies.

Dr. Huber received his Ph.D. and M.S. degrees in biostatistics from The University of Texas School of Public Health, as well as an M.A. in psychology from the University of Houston-Clear Lake. His research interests include genetic epidemiology of chronic diseases, statistical genetics, statistical methods in epidemiology, categorical data and longitudinal methods.
